Pre-qualifying call for Bosnia’s Prenj Tunnel

The 10.5km-long tunnel on the Bijaca-Svilaj motorway will likely cost around €400 million.

A pre-qualifying call for the construction of the Prenj Tunnel in Bosnia has been issued by Bosnia’s state-owned company FBiH Highways.

The 10.5km-long tunnel on the Bijaca-Svilaj motorway will likely cost around €400 million and completion in scheduled for 2028. It is being financed with European Union grants, loans from international lenders and funds from FBiH Highways.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is loaning €100 million with the European Investment Bank (EIB) loaning €150 million.

The tunnel will form part of the important European Corridor 5C route.
