The tender process for two key toll roads in Indonesia is opening, subject to land clearance agreements being settled.

The tender process for two key toll roads in Indonesia is opening, subject to land clearance agreements being settled. The 54km Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road project will be worth some US$577.7 million while the 57.5km Pejagan-Pemalang toll road project will be worth $649.6 million. Construction work is planned to commence in April 2012 on both projects, with completion due in late 2013 and the roads being opened to traffic in early 2014.

Major Indonesian highway projects moving ahead

A series of major highway projects are now moving ahead in Indonesia. One of the projects is for part of the Trans-Java Toll Road. Work is now starting to build the route and this new 759km toll road will connect Surabaya and Jakarta. New toll road link for Indonesia

Work is progressing on an important toll road project in Indonesia that will link Bogor, Sukabumi and Ciawi in West Java. The construction work is being carried out by Trans Jabar Tol, a subsidiary of state-owned firm Waskita Karya. The project is costing some US$577.6 million and will reduce travel time from Sukabumi to Indonesia’s capital Jakarta to one hour, compared with the four hours the journey can take at present. Waskita Karya seeks loan for Pejagan-Pemalang toll road on Java

Indonesian state-owned construction firm Waskita Karya will seek a bank loan of US$338 million for its work on the Pejagan-Pemalang toll project in central Java island. The project is being managed by Pejagan Pemalang Toll Road, a subsidiary of Waskita Karya. Waskita company secretary Antonius Yulianto Nugroho said the firm has enough cash resources to cover a quarter of its financial commitment on the project and is targeting bank loans to cover the other 75%.
