Texas tollway projects commencing

A series of tolled highway projects are commencing in the US state of Texas. These projects are being coordinated with input from the Texas Department of Transportation. One project is worth US$330 million and involves adding tolled lanes to the existing State Highway 360. The second phase of this project would cost an additional $604 million and involve adding further tolled lanes, however funding has yet to be secured before it can progress further. A series of tolled highway projects are commencing in the US state of Texas. These projects are being coordinated with input from the 3499 Texas Department of Transportation. One project is worth US$330 million and involves adding tolled lanes to the existing State Highway 360. The second phase of this project would cost an additional $604 million and involve adding further tolled lanes, however funding has yet to be secured before it can progress further. Another project is for the construction of tolled lanes along a 16km section of State Highway 288, with the work costing in the region of $880 million. Meanwhile the Texas Department of Transportation is working on developing Interstate I-35 in the area around the city of Austin, in a bid to cut congestion and improve traffic flow at peak times. This project could cost up to $4.5 billion and would require the construction of an overpass and a bridge, as well as bus lanes and the installation of traffic monitoring technology.
