Important highway projects are being planned in Russia, including the Moscow-Kazan Highway and the Krasnodar Bypass. Russia’s state-owned road firm, Avtodor, is calling for bids for both projects.

Building the M12 Highway to connect Moscow with Kazan is expected to cost US$7.62 billion. The tender process is open until August 17th 2020.

The aim is for the link to be complete by mid-2024 and the design calls for maximum allowable speeds of up to 130km/h. Building the highway will be challenging as the route extends some 729km.

The far western Kraznodar bypass (DZOK) meanwhile is expected to cost $624.5 million. The tender process is open until 13th August 2020.

Further tenders are planned for road projects in Russia’s Vorozneh Region and Rostov Region shortly.
