RSSProgress is being made with regard to the Lower Thames Crossing project planned to the east of London. 8100 Highways England has appointed CH2M, Arcadis and COWI to work as joint venture partners in delivering the technical assistance for the Lower Thames Crossing project. This team will provide assistance to Highways England in gaining the consent for the development of the project, which will provide a road connection between the counties of Essex and Kent to the east of London.

The timeframe of the project could see actual construction commence in 2021 with the work then being completed by 2025. The link is expected to run from Gravesham in Kent to Tilbury in Essex.
