A new road tunnel stretch is being planned for the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius. The tunnel will be located in the Tarande area of the city. The aim of the project is to reduce severe congestion in the area that builds up at peak periods around an intersection with the Ukmerge Highway.
The tender process for the project will commence shortly, with the winner being announced in early 2021. Construction work will then commence in the second quarter of 2021. The project is being managed by the Lithuanian Road Administration (LAKD).
