A series of new road works will help boost transport in Moscow once complete
A series of highway projects are either underway or being planned in Russian capital Moscow. Russian road authority 3974 Avtodor is inviting bids for construction and maintenance of the Central Ring Road's fifth start-up facility in the Moscow region. The road section will be 76km long and the concession package will be for 24 years. The maximum price of the contract has been set at US$1.14 billion. Is also opening bids for construction of the M11 Moscow-St Petersburg motorway's 208-258 km section. The project will require an investment of some $135 million, with some funding being supplied by the Russian Government. The results of the bidding process will be announced in November 2014. Meanwhile contractor 2450 Mostotrest will renovate Bolshaya Akademicheskaya Street in Moscow in a deal worth $102.5 million. The section of road is 3 km long and Mostotrest has plans to build three underground and five surface pedestrian crossings. The most complex part of this project will be to build a 410m long tunnel that will carry three traffic lanes in either direction. And Morton is investing $212 million in building a motorway connecting the Kievskoye Highway to the Kaluzhskoye Highway, near to Moscow’s Vnukovo airport.
