A new bridge project is being planned in Ecuador. The bridge will be the fifth crossing of the Guayas River. The plan to build the bridge has been delayed and its construction was originally expected to cost US$1.14 billion. The original tender process was halted. The project will include the construction of a 3.44km bridge that will improve connections to the port of Guayaquil. It also includes the construction of another, shorter, bridge measuring around 855m. Work was to have been completed but with the delays to the project, will now be somewhat later.
