Additional funding is needed to pay for a key road project in Costa Rica. The widening work on Route 32 will require from US$300 million to $350 million to complete.

The project gained its approval in 2012. But Costa Rica’s National Roads Administration (CONAVI) and Ministry of Public Works agree that the current budget is insufficient for the work to be completed.

Potential funding sources for the work have yet to be revealed.
