Kazakhstan’s capital has seen a major improvement in its road network.
The city authorities in Kazakhstan’s capital have pursued a successful policy of road improvements. The aim is to ensure that by the end of 2020, some 80% of Almaty’s roads will be in good condition. This will be an improvement from the 75% of the city’s roads in good condition at the end of 2019 when Almaty’s network extended to a total of some 3,096km.
Further improvements are planned also. During 2021, three new interchanges will open to traffic. These will help improve traffic flow and cut peak time congestion.
