Iraqi road tenders are opening for bids.
The tenders are opening for the project to build a 1,200km road/rail link linking Iraq with Turkey. Construction of this combined road and rail connection is expected to cost as much as US$17 billion.
Design work is due to commence for the road project shortly and geological studies of the route are already underway. Funding for the project has yet to be finalised. The work will provide an important boost to Iraq’s economy by improving the trade and transport link with Turkey.
