Indonesian major projects planned

Indonesia is planning a series of major projects.

The Indonesian Government is planning a series of major projects to help revitalise the country’s economy following the pandemic. A further 89 new national strategic projects have been added to the existing 223 national strategic projects.

The total value of these works tops an impressive US$277 billion. Transport projects are amongst the works prioritised and are included in the 89 new works being planned. These include development and construction for five ports, five airports, six rail links and 15 road and bridge projects.

Construction work will commence during 2020 on several of the planned toll road projects. The most important toll road links include work to the 33km for Sections I and V of the Balikpapan-Samarinda toll road, the 14km for section 4 of the Banda Aceh-Sigli toll road and the  Pekanbaru-Dumai toll road, measuring 131km.
