Construction work is now underway on a key highway project in Gabon.
Work is now underway on the 780km highway connecting Gabon’s capital Libreville with the city of Franceville in the east of the country. The project is costing US$1.1 billion and is due for completion in 2023.
The work is being handled by Société autoroutière du Gabon (SAG), which has a 30-year concession for the Transgabonaise route. Improving the highway is expected to help develop Gabon’s economy, providing an important transport route for goods.
