In France two alignment options are being considered for the new highway connecting Poitiers with Limoges.  The tolled highway is expected to cost up to €1.01 billion to construct, with €771 million of the construction being paid for through a combination of French state and local authority budgets.

One option would see the route opening in 2030, while the other would see completion by 2035.

The new highway will reduce journey times compared with the existing 134km route using the RN147. With two lanes in either direction and a central divider, the new highway will improve safety and capacity on this important French route as well.
