EC approves Slovakian highway project

The EC has given its approval for funding to construct the section of the D1 highway that will connect Hubova with Ivachnova. The EC will provide €169.2 million for the project. In all the 15.3km section of the highway will cost €227.26 million to construct, with the remainder being provided by the state budget. The construction is being carried out by a consortium combining Czech company OHL ZS and Slovak firm Vahostav SK. The work is now underway and the highway is expected to be open to traffic by June 2

The EC has given its approval for funding to construct the section of the D1 highway that will connect Hubova with Ivachnova. The EC will provide €169.2 million for the project. Restart for Slovakia’s Čebrať tunnel and Hubova-to-Ivachnova D1 section

Work will restart on the 15.2km D1 bypass around the Slovakian town of Ružomberok after the government and contractors amended the contract. The consortium of OHL ZS and Vahostav-SK and the National Highway Company (NDS) recently signed and addendum to the contract that includes an extension of section’s Čebrať tunnel by1.6km to 3.6km and shortening of the road by around 300m.
