Abu Dhabi deal for Italian firm

Italian contractor Salini Impregilo is to carry out a major road construction project in Abu Dhabi. The new road link will connect two of the islands forming part of Abu Dhabi, with the work expected to be complete by 2020. The project is worth US$200 million in all and Salini Impregilo will carry out both the design and building portions of the work involved.

New road project for Abu Dhabi

A new US$307.5 million highway project is now underway in Abu Dhabi, with completion expected in the second quarter of 2020. The project involves building a new road link from Umm Lafina and the Al Reem islands to the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Road. The work is being split into two separate contracts. Highway widening for key highway in Nigeria

A highway widening project in Nigeria will improve the connection between the city of Minna and the capital, Abuja. The road being widened connects Suleja, which lies close to Abuja, with Minna and the work is being carried out on a 41km section of the route. The work will be carried out by Italian contractor Salini Impregilo and involves adding a second lane to the route, while the project is worth some US$127 million. The 48 month project was awarded by the Nigerian Ministry of Public Works.
