The 364 Wirtgen Group is now offering variants of its latest 1194 Vögele asphalt pavers and 228 Hamm asphalt compactors. The new Vögele Super 2100-3 and Super 1900-3 pavers and Hamm HD12VO and HD10VO compactors are all now built in the firm’s Chinese plant.

The pavers feature a lengthened design with a bigger hopper, to allow greater material capacity and are special variants for this major market. The 2.42m long hopper in the Super 2100-3L has been extended by 320mm over the recently launched model sold into other markets. The 1,100tonne/hour capacity paver is available with a 13m wide SB250-TV fixed screed, offering a maximum paving depth of 400mm. The machine also comes with the firm’s advanced ErgoPlus 3 control system, while power is supplied by a 179kW 196 Cummins diesel.

The HD12VO compactor from Hamm is a 2.75tonne machine with 1.2m wide-drums and can deliver compaction forces of 32kN. This versatile machine offers vibration compaction on its front drum and oscillation for the rear drum while power comes from a 23kW diesel.

Ulrich Reichert, CEO and managing director of Wirtgen China said, “We are developing machines for the Chinese market.” He explained that while these models are more expensive than local machines they retain the firm’s high quality but at a lower price than models built in the company’s German factories.
