The DT6 continues the company’s quest for robust design and superior build quality, explained Jan Werner Jensen, chief executive of Hydrema.

Danish rental company GSV – along-time customer - took delivery, explained Leif Søndergaard, Hydrema’s head of sales for Scandinavia. “Our partnership with GSV underscores the industry’s growing recognition of the need for zero-emission vehicles and the transformative capabilities that the DT6 has.”

Henrik Christensen, vice-president of fleet & purchasing at GSV, said the DT6 “perfectly suits the changing legislation in the construction sector” and helps GSV customers reduce their carbon footprint.

The lifetime of the liquid-cooled 63kWh lithium ion batteries is estimated to be between eight and 10 years, thanks to an integral Thermal Management System. The DT6 has an 18kW integrated onboard charger and it connects directly to standard Type 2 charging stations or CCE 32A outlets. Under a normal eight hour duty, Hydrema says the DT6 needs to charge only during work breaks to ensure maximum uptime for the shift.

The DT6 dumper features an advanced liquid-cooled 96V ZF eTrac electric powertrain - motor, transmission and axles. It delivers instant torque and precise control, resulting in smooth and responsive performance. Power ratings are 29kW continuous and 6kW peak. Three different drive modes, Power, Normal and Eco, allows for different loads, accelerations and energy recovery.

Meanwhile, the dumper's advanced battery management system optimises energy consumption, enabling longer work cycles and reduces the need for frequent recharging.

The electric powertrain also significantly reduces noise levels compared to conventional diesel dumpers. This quieter operation benefits construction workers, nearby residents and the overall construction site environment.
