712 Haulotte has unveiled a new range of high-precision vertical masts which the manufacturer claims will require minimum maintenance and reduce costs and downtime.

Haulotte’s vertical mast booms deliver work platforms for difficult-to-reach places using telescopic masts that can climb to a working height of 6m to 10m.

Often used for road-side maintenance work, units like the new Star 8 S vertical mast aim to “provide agility in confined areas” says Haulotte.

The mast is “easy” to transport from site to site says the French manufacturer, and units will be available to purchase in the fourth quarter of 2018.

Elsewhere in the range, the Star 6 Crawler Tracked Vertical mast comes with a lifting height of 6m and features “high-precision driving and smoothness and a 40cm platform extension capability,” says Haulotte.

The Star 6 mast also comes with a direct electric drive with brushless alternating current motors as well as the company’s ACTIV’Screen system.

The ACTIV’Screen is an “intelligent interface for onboard diagnostics,” says Haulotte, offering users “optimized productivity by providing critical information; reduced service calls and field interventions; savings in time and money; direct access to the machine's operating parameters … and diagnostic without acquiring an additional tool.”

According to Clement Viaouet, product manager at Haulotte, these new models “provide more accuracy and allow users to manoeuvre in many places with high precision. More stability helps users feel safe and comfortable when working in narrow places.”
