Anaconda Equipment, which is exhibiting its DF410 tracked screener at bauma, has been crowned Business of the Year in the Belfast Telegraph 2013 Business Awards in its home country of Northern Ireland. In making the award, the judges considered the business’s growth, export achievements and design innovations, said Anaconda marketing manager Catrina Quinn. It is said to have the quietest cab in the industry (76dB(A)), best-in-class drawbar pull with hydrostatic transmission (311kN) and integration with GPS and laser guidance.

Turkish asphalt plant specialist E-Mak is supplying an innovative recycling system to a firm in Hamburg. The machine is a prototype and is still being developed, with indirect heating to ensure that the bitumen is not damaged during the recycling process. The machine uses heat generated by the burner and flows this hot air through the tower. Sennebogen has plugged the gap in its telescopic crawler crane range with the introduction of the 673R-HD. The 70tonne capacity machine sits between the firm’s 40 and 80tonne models, offering a 36m four-stage main boom with two fly booms of 8m and 15m. This gives a maximum reach of 51m. Among a host of updated machinery at bauma, Sennebogen has unveiled the 655HD duty cycle crawler crane for the dragline and foundation industries. The 55tonne E Series machine is powered by a 261kW Stage IIIB Caterpillar engine. Both of its 16tonne winches are driven by variable flow hydraulic motors and the machine is equipped with the firm’s SENCON monitoring and electronic control system.

Putzmeister has added a five-section 38m, 160m3/hr concrete pump, which can be used to place loads inside buildings some 3m higher than the four-section option. Built on a 26tonne chassis, the new 38.5 can reach heights of 31m while leaving the final boom section to pass inside the building. Bespoke equipment supplier Cimolai Technology is exhibiting a model of the equipment it supplied for a Bulgarian bridge project. Construction of the bridge entailed lifting and positioning pre-cast sections weighing up to 260tonnes. Atlas Copco Road Construction Equipment has decided to align the visual identity of its Dynapac range of rollers and pavers to the design used by the other divisions in the Atlas Copco Construction Technique business area. Launched at bauma, the new Atlas Copco logotype is clearly visible on the products together with the Dynapac name. The colour scheme changes to yellow and grey, which is already used for construction tools, portable compressors and generators.
