Indonesia’s Government is building 1,520km of new roads on Papua and West Papua. The work is proving challenging as Papua and West Papua both feature harsh terrain. Construction work on Algeria’s planned Hauts-plateaux highway is set to commence at the end of June 2013. The highway will run 1,300km and connect Tébessa with Naâma, with the project being split into three sections. The East stretch will be 220km long while the West section will be 305km long and in the middle will be the 495km Central section. The new highway is expected to provide an important trade route and help improve transport between Algeria and its neighbours and this forms part of Algeria’s 2030

The Mexican authorities will invest an additional US$362 million to complete the Durango-Mazatlan highway. The project has taken 12 years to reach fruition and has included many major technical challenges. The Mexican Government's Communications and Transport Secretariat has revealed that the final cost of the project is 173% over budget and it is also 10 months behind schedule. Meanwhile plans are moving forward for a new highway link that will connect Mexico to Guatemala as well as El Salvador.

The Uzbekistan Government is increasing its investment in road infrastructure. This will rise by a factor of 1.4 to US$454 million in 2013 compared to the spending in 2012. One of the main projects will be for repairs to Uzbekistan's national highway. Around $120 million of the budget will be used to rebuild a further 320km of public roads and over 1,100km of rural roads.

JCB is investing €9.34 million in its British manufacturing plants as the company gears up for future growth. This is being spent on new machine tools which will further boost component quality and production efficiency. Ammann will be unveiling its first ever 9-tonne roller as part of a 20-strong range of new rollers that meet Euro 3B and Tier 4 Interim emission standards. Part of Ammann’s largest machine market launch to date and fitted with a Deutz 74kW engine, the ARX 90 tandem roller is said to be Swiss firm’s most important product with regard to volume in global applications.
