Strabag consortium has signed a contract with the Polish General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) for construction of an S6 dual carriageway section. The work, worth around US$113 million, is due for completion in April 2019. It also makes Strabag responsible for more than 100km of S6 work. Tunisia has major plans to upgrade its road network, with work due to commence in 2016. The Tunisian Government has said it intends to modernise 718km of roads across the country. The aim is to widen roads to 7.6m so that they meet international standards. The scheme will cover 21 governorates. Five national roads will be upgraded with a total distance of 105km, while 20 regional roads covering a distance of 320km will be updated. The project will also improve 20 local roads with a total distance of 294km.

Vietnam has seen a drop in the number of reported road crashes. The National Traffic Safety Committee of Vietnam reported that 7,185 people were killed by crashes between the 16th December 2014 and the 15th October 2015. There were 18,437 crashes during this period, a drop of 3.9% for the same period in the previous year. The data shows that 16,755 people were injured in crashes during the 10-month period. The S6 expressway links the largest cities in northern Poland, Szczecin and Gdańsk.
