The latest addition to the Edge Design range of mobile handling equipment has been released at INTERMAT. The static (SL) / mobile (ML) / tracked (TL) vessel loader is capable of transferring up to 1,200tonnes per hour of material, and can accept it direct from large dumping trucks or tipping trailers. While draglines are now a rarity, Sennebogen showed its 50tonne operating weight duty cycle crawler crane, the 650HD, with 2.33 dragline bucket. The machine is one of a 10-model range with operating weights from 20-180tonnes and engines between 119 and 708kW. It can be used in civil engineering, mining, demolition or material handling.

Italian crusher manufacturer REV has updated its Zeffiro GCV80 crusher, with a Stage IIIB Caterpillar engine, improved electrics and additional safety guards on the conveyors. Designed primarily for the demolition and recycling industry, the machine uses a 130kW version of the Cat C6.6 motor, driving through a variable displacement load sensing hydraulic system.

German asphalt and concrete plant constructor Lintec is rapidly expanding its manufacturing base around the world to meet growing demand for its modular material production equipment from both well established and emerging markets. The company’s new facility in Poland has recently supplied its first CDD 1200 GA Gussasphalt plant to French company SMAC, part of the Colas Group. However, the company is also enjoying strong demand from facilities in Brazil, Shanghai and Singapore.

Atlas Copco, which is opening a new competence centre in Europe, is to move a divisional headquarters to China and has also hinted at further acquisitions. The new Atlas Copco Generator Competence Centre in Zaragoza, Spain, is scheduled to be in full operation by 2013, and is subject to final approval by local authorities. The decision to launch the centre for generators was announced by Atlas Copco’s portable energy division at INTERMAT.

Atlas Copco used INTERMAT to launch the Edge Drill Monitor – an innovative system of measuring shock waves from down-the-hole drilling. Information about the hammer and the bit is displayed graphically in real time, allowing the operator to extract maximum performance and efficiency as geology changes during the drilling process, to maintain the correct degree of flushing and avoid tool breakage.
