US$556 million for Algeria roads maintenance

A budget of US$556 million has been set for Algerian roads maintenance.

Road maintenance and upgrade works worth US$556 million are planned for Algeria by the Ministry of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure. Motorways, national roads and local roads will benefit from a series of improvement works intended to boost quality and safety for drivers. Resurfacing will be included amongst the maintenance and upgrade works being carried out.

Meanwhile, the RN 127 national road will benefit from widening and improvement works. The 73km RN 127 route connects the RN 14 road will Algeria’s North-South Motorway. Capacity and safety will be boosted by the project, which will see much of the route upgraded to dual carriageway status. The project forms part of a series of road improvements in the area surrounding Boughezoul. This major road project will improve transport to the south of Algiers,
