The US Department of Transportation (DOT) is offering a total of US$5.1 billion in infrastructure project grants. Firms can apply for the funding as part of the National Infrastructure Project Assistance (Mega), Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA), and Rural Surface Transportation Grant (Rural) programmes.

Bridge, tunnel and highway/road construction, upgrading and maintenance works will all be in the frame for access to the grants. Projects that improve transport safety, public transport, trucking or access to rural areas will be prioritised.

Applications for this massive funding tranche have to be received by 6 May 2024. Of the DOT’s funding, $2.7 billion will be for the INFRA programme, while $1.7 billion is being directed to the Mega programme. A further $780 million is being directed towards projects in rural areas as part of the Rural Programme.
