The loan is coming from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM). The plans call for upgrades and maintenance works to be carried out over the 2024-2033 period to 1,200km of Morocco’s motorway routes. ADM’s motorway upgrade programme will cost an estimated $643 million in total. The firm will use its own sources for the rest of the financing required. A budget of $99 million will be set for building new roads and maintaining existing links in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region. The budget has been agreed by the local authorities and Morocco’s Ministry of Equipment and Water. In addition, a new $32 million junction will be built in Sidi Maarouf, just south of Casablanca. The new interchange is to be constructed by Société de Travaux Agricoles Marocains (STAM) and its subsidiary VIAS. Finance & Funding
