Ukraine and Hungary will jointly present a border and road development plan, valued at €1 billion, to the European Union, according Hungarian media reports.
The plan encompasses the establishment of two motorway connections, a freight crossing point, as well as enhancements to roads on both sides of the border.
This month crossings began for commercial vehicles between Beregsurany in Hungary and the nearby Ukrainian town of Astei. Additionally, a comprehensive refurbishment of the border post on the Ukrainian side in Astei is scheduled to start, completion in two years.
He added that the crossing between Beregsurany and Astei would also undergo a two-year renovation and expansion. A crossing between the Hungarian town of Nagyhodos and Velyka Palad in the Ukraine would open soon, bringing the number of crossings between Hungary and Ukraine to six.
