A key component of the programme is construction of the Circunvalacion Norte road in the north of the country. This link forms part of the Viadom project and is costing some $117 million.
In all, the Viadom project is costing $471 million and includes the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Duarte motorway, the upgrading of the 6 de Noviembre highway, the expansion of the Santiago-Navarrete road and improvements to the Sanchez road.
In addition, the Ministry of Public Works is promoting the construction of the Autopista del Coral highway in the east of the country, which will cost over $360 million. In addition, $500 million will be invested in the National Asphalt Plan, with $200 million being spent in the south and east and an additional $300 million being spread across the north of the country and its capital.
