The event aims to attract international and domestic key manufacturers and industry players. The exhibition is set to be held in halls with a gross area of 10,000m2, plus outdoor exhibition areas. The organisers expect more than 200 companies to exhibit and 10,000 expected visitors. Several major firms have already reserved booths at the exhibition next to national pavilion participation from Germany, Czech Republic, Russian Federation, Iran, Austria, and Italy. The main exhibitors’ product groups at the exhibition will be asphalt paving/decorative asphalt, asphalt sealcoating, asphalt equipment and machinery, petrochemical products related to asphalt, bitumen production plants and machinery and equipment for road construction and maintenance. During the three day exhibition, there will also be seminars hosting domestic and international speakers. Turkey’s highway network is expanding rapidly as the country has highlighted road development as a key economic priority. The Turkish Government has said it intends to build some 36,500km of dual lane highways by 2023 and is investing up to €20 billion in this construction programme. The organisers state that Asphaltist 2014 fair will be the key platform to bring together the government bodies with private sector related to asphalt and road industry.
