Ontario-based WS Tyler is offering three innovative new systems to the North American market. The company is a subsidiary of German firm Haver and one of its new concepts is the new Haver Pelletising Disc, which converts fines into marketable pelletised product.

Last year's flooding in the Australian state of New South Wales left the roads in the Richmond Valley in a poor state with 400km in need of urgent repair. To quickly meet the aggregate demand for the work, Richmond Valley Council called on contract crushing specialist M&M Crushing to produce 100,000tonnes of 20mm road base and 7mm, 10mm and 14mm graded aggregates from Peterson's Quarry.

Wakoz Beton's Glazica sand quarry in Poland is a major source of high quality sand and gravels for the Gdansk construction market. The site is modern and only opened in 2006 but Wakoz Beton has continued to invest in facilities to improve its efficiency and output quality. The installation of a CDE mobile washing plant at the site last year is allowing it to provide materials for concrete.

The decision by MB S.p.A. to exhibit a wide range of its bucket crushers in 'camouflage uniform' at the Bauma 2007 exhibition in Munich, Germany, brought it to the attention of the United States Army. Now the company's crusher buckets are found in US Army shipyards, and in what it describes as "an ever-increasingly demanding, improvised market."

A new report by the US-based Freedonia Group estimates that world demand for asphalt will grow 2.1%/year from the low in 2008 to 108 million tonnes in 2013.
