161 Atlas Copco is aiming its new three-tool, towable compressor at the construction and construction rental industries. Highly mobile, the XAS87Kd compressor weighs in at less than 750kg, is compact in design, robust, sturdy and simple to operate. Power comes from a four-cylinder 1265 Kubota diesel rated at 33kW and the compressor features a novel smaller element with improved rotor design, coupled through direct gear transmission. It provides a free air delivery of 5m³/min at 7 bars allowing a three tool capacity and is available with a steel canopy or a more durable HardHat canopy. The XAS 87 Kd is also equipped as standard with a 40litre compact fuel tank to allow working throughout an 8hour shift. In addition, the unit is offered with a cold start aid as an option, enabling it to be started at temperatures as low as -20°C.
