Major repairs are planned for New York’s roads.
New York State is budgeting US$100 million for road repairs. The spending will be directed towards roads that have been damaged due to the recent extreme weather conditions. The funding has been sourced from the state’s own financial resources.
Over 800km of roads will be targeted for maintenance and improvement works in a total of 64 road sections. A five-year plan by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) will see bridge improvements as well as road repairs.
