India’s Uttar Pradesh State is planning to invest US$5.5 billion in road development works for the 2024-2025 financial year. The budget will be directed towards the development of tertiary roads, district roads and state highways.
The Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority will manage the expressway projects. Projects will be carried out under the Dharmarth religious tourist circuit programme in 2024. Road works for logistics and industrial park corridors will be carried out in the state. And road works will be carried out for Dharmarth project, improving links in industrial areas and sugar mill areas, interstate border roads, international border roads, block headquarters and villages. The public works department will invest close to INR 340bn in road and highway projects.
