8081 Terex Trucks is appointing Babcock to provide dealer cover for the Southern African market. According to the firm, partnering with one of Africa’s most established and experienced equipment suppliers will help boost the sale and support of Terex Trucks’ rigid and articulated haulers. Babcock will also provide parts and other essential aftermarket support services to customers in South Africa and neighbouring countries. Terex Trucks will support Babcock by providing a range of commercial and technical resources, including technician training to support the complete product range.

“We are impressed with the commitment to customer satisfaction and customer support that Babcock embraces,” said Paul Douglas, director and general manager of Terex Trucks. “As a sign of intent, Babcock has purchased six TR100s, three TR60s and four TA300s for its initial stock holding, as well as a substantial parts holding. We are convinced this will be a great partnership, one that leverages the combined strength of Babcock and Terex Trucks to better serve our collective customers.”

Babcock’s branch network and support infrastructure extends across Southern Africa, providing comprehensive support for Terex Trucks’ existing and potential customers. The firm’s newly completed branch in Middelburg will serve as head office for Terex Trucks in the region. As a sign of the company’s commitment to the distribution of Terex Trucks, the branch has been designed and purpose-built with work bays large enough to accommodate Artic and Rigid dump trucks up to the size of the TR100.

Roger O’Callaghan, CEO-Africa, Babcock International, regards the move as beneficial for both companies, saying: “Babcock is very excited to incorporate Terex Trucks into our current portfolio. We believe the additional products complement our existing range and give us an opportunity to provide new customers with the Babcock ‘trusted to deliver’ service.”
