A new bridge link is being planned for the Russian city of Novosibirsk, in Southern Siberia. However, there are some complexities for the project surrounding some of the land required for the work. The Transport Ministry for the region says that it expects the land issue to be settled in 2021 and that this will not delay construction. Nor is the current pandemic is not delaying the project according to the Transport Ministry.

So far, preparations are underway for some of the necessary steelwork to be delivered. The project is for a new bridge spanning the River Ob, as well as for road links and junctions at either end. As there are existing rail connections along the alignment, some of the road links will have to pass through new tunnel stretches.

The project is being handled by the Siberian Concession Company, part of VIS Group. Financing worth around US$97.6 million is being supplied by the Gazprombank. In all, the project is expected to cost $555.45 million.
