New Zealand plans extensions to its transport improvement programme.

New Zealand is making further extensions to its transport development programme. A boost of US$154.4 million (NZ$252 million) has been made for the budget by the Transport Ministry. 

A total of $5.45 billion (NZ$8.9 billion) is being spent on the New Zealand Upgrade transport programme in total, with new links as well as road maintenance works planned. Road improvements planned include work for the Penlink and Papakura routes as well as the Melling Interchange, costing $325.3 million (NZ$531 million).
