Morocco sets strong road budget for 2015

The Moroccan Government is setting a healthy budget for road maintenance during 2015. The budget has been set at some US$486.2 million in 2015, according to the Ministry for Infrastructure and Transport. The money will mainly be used for road maintenance. In 2014, work was carried out to maintain some 1,000km of roads, with widening of some 630km of routes and repairs or rebuilding of 40 structures. The plan is to continue this programme into 2015. The budget has been set at some US$486.2 million in 2015, according to the Ministry for Infrastructure and Transport. The money will mainly be used for road maintenance. In 2014, work was carried out to maintain some 1,000km of roads, with widening of some 630km of routes and repairs or rebuilding of 40 structures. The plan is to continue this programme into 2015. Over 1,800km will be modernised and by the end of 2015, 15,500km of roads in rural areas will have been surfaced. By the end of September 2014, the total had already reached 14,251km.
