Japanese funding will help pay for a key road project in Georgia. The Japanese Government is providing nearly US$349 million in funding for the work through 6706 JICA. The funding will pay for work on the 15km road link connecting Shorapani with Argveta. The section of road forms part of the E60 route, which connects the port of Poti with Georgia’s capital Tblisi and then crosses into Azerbaijan, providing a road link between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea.
