Funding worth a total of US$500 million has been secured for two important highway projects in Bangladesh. The funding package is being supplied by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). This will be used to construct the Kewatkhali Bridge as well as a new highway connecting Tamabil with Sylhet that will feature dual lanes in either direction. Both the bridge and highway project will be managed by Bangladesh’s Roads and Highway Department.
