A Chinese firm will assist with a road project in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Chinese expertise is helping with road maintenance and upgrade works now underway in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The project will see a 7km stretch of road in the DRC capital, Kinshasa, benefiting from improvement works. Completion of the project is expected at the end of December 2023.
The Nzolana road connects Mont-Ngafula and Ngaliema commune to the south of the city with central Kinshasa. The finance package for the work is being provided by Sino-Congolese Mines (SICOMINES). The arrangement for the funding was agreed between the DRC Government and Chinese financiers. With Chinese expertise being used to assist with the upgrade work, the project will now be completed in 2023 and well before the original schedule of May 2024.
