StreetLight Data, a US mobility analytics company, has been selected by the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) for a state-wide project.

MnDOT will use the StreetLight InSight platform to collect large amounts of traffic pattern data to help the state tackle road openings, closings and rerouting of vehicles for large public events. These include the Minnesota State Fair, the Renaissance Festival and the Super Bowl football game. The Minnesota deal follows a recent similar win for StreetLight Data in the state of Ohio. StreetLight’s InSight will provide unlimited analyses of travel patterns across Minnesota, such as origin-destination and select link studies. It will provide general modeling, forecasting and planning, especially public transit planning and freight/commercial truck studies, as well as performance measurement for major construction projects. The platform is available to designated employees of MnDOT, the Metropolitan Planning Organisation for Twins Cities (Minneapolis and St. Paul) region, the Minnesota division of the 2410 Federal Highway Administration and consulting firms working for these agencies.
