If the average speed of vehicles drops below a preset threshhold, the NiNa Guard detects this as a potential traffic jam, and using NiNa, which is based on GPRS, sends the data either to a control centre to warn motorists of a potential traffic jam, or it can be linked to the VMS system so a pre-determined signs can be displayed.
