Around 9 February, 2012, 2648 Oregon Department of Transportation’s (ODoT) Office of Innovative Partnerships and Alternative Funding will be issuing a Request for Information (RFI) in connection with a Road Usage Charge Pilot Program (RUCPP), providing an excellent opportunity for vendors to showcase road pricing technologies.
ODoT says this RFI will allow companies to express interest and provide relevant qualifications and technical information regarding the design, implementation, functionality, and usage of on-board vehicle units (OBUs), transaction processing systems, account management systems, and mileage tax accounting systems.
When the RFI is released on or around 9 February, responses will be due on or around 23 February and the information received will be used to finalise a Request For Proposal (RFP) for the RUCPP system. Response to the RFI will be required for all companies wishing to respond to the subsequent RFP, tentatively scheduled to be issued during the last half of March 2012.
ODoT points out that it will not be receiving calls relative to this opportunity until the formal RFI is released and says that after releasing the RFI, it will conduct an informational meeting with one-on-one interviews for interested vendors. It is anticipated these meetings will occur 15-17 February, 2012, at ODOT facilities in Portland, Oregon.
Additional information, including the formal RFI and details surrounding the meeting sessions will be posted to the3973 Oregon Procurement Information Network (ORPIN) website in the upcoming weeks.
