New highway routes are being planned for India.
Two new highway concession packages have been awarded in India. The two packages are worth a total of US$803 million and were awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
The packages will be managed under the toll, operate, and transfer (TOT) model. IRB Infrastructure Trust will operate TOT bundle 12 for the 316km Allahabad Bypass. Cube Highways and Infrastructure has the TOT package 11 for an 84km bypass.
The deals allow the firms to collect tolls for these routes for 20 years. Maintenance of the roads also forms part of the deal.
