A new report published in the US highlights the category of drivers most involved in fatal crashes in 2021. According to the study, carried out by Neufeld Law, white males aged 21-25 are the category most likely to be involved in a fatal car crash.
The data came from the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA), which compiles a Fatality Analysis Reporting System. The data shows that white males were involved in 3,036 crashes that involved fatalities during 2021.
White males aged 26-30 had the next highest rate, accounting for 2,958 fatal road crashes in 2021. White male drivers aged 31-35 were the next highest for fatal crashes in 2021.
The data makes it clear that male drivers are more likely to be involved in fatal crashes than female drivers.
There are 117,566,578 female drivers in the US holding driving licences. Of these, there were just 6,049 fatal crashes in 2021. This is equivalent to 5.1 crashes/100,000 licensed population.
