Bolivia will introduce tough new legislation aimed at boosting road safety. The use of cellphones while driving will be banned while speed cameras will be installed on major routes, vehicle occupants will have to wear seatbelts and motorcyclists and cyclists will be required to wear helmets. The Bolivian Government is also setting up a system that will record the details of drivers caught speeding, linked to the use of radar and speed cameras. Road infrastructure will also be improved with guard rail being installed at high risk sections of road.
