Romania’s Ministry of Transport has said that work on the project should commence on 1st January 2017.

Meanwhile completing the final 3.3km of the Bucharest - Ploiesti highway will cost €28.54 million, according to the National Company for Highways and National Roads of Romania (2870 CNADNR). The project is being carried out jointly by Asociation Aktor and Euro Construct Trading '98. Work is due for completion 22 months. The Bucharest - Ploiesti highway segment is the only one in the country that has three lanes in one direction, with the first 19.5km started in 2007 by Impresa Pizzarotti C and Tirrena Scavi. However, just over 16km has been built with the rest remaining incomplete due to changes to the plan made by local authorities.
