The tender process is open for a road project in Albania that has an expected value of €845.45 million. The bidding process is being handled by the Albanian Road Authority, ARRSH, and will be open until 8th May 2024. The road will connect the historic tow of Berat with Ballaban. The road project will be split into two stretches and will boost capacity on the route, as well as providing a boost for tourism to Berat. The existing SH74 route connecting the two towns features many switchbacks and while it is scenic, the road does not have either a good safety record or sufficient capacity for heavy trucks in particular.
