Drivers will have to wait a little longer for two important highway projects in Slovakia to be ready for use. Work on the D4 highway and R7 route close to Bratislava has been delayed.

The remaining sections of the D4 and R7 should be complete by mid-2021 however. The work is being carried out by a joint venture team, D4R7 Construction, comprising Porr Bau and Ferrovial Construction. In all the work includes building 59km of road.

The concession for the route will be handled by Zero Bypass. The project is being handled under the PPP model and is worth a total of almost €1 billion. The project is Slovakia's largest PPP project.
