Poland is planning to enter seven transport projects to the Connecting Europe Programme, with these having a combined value close to €2.86 billion. Among the planned projects are the S61 express road between the Lithuanian border and Augustow. Meanwhile 945 STRABAG and 3302 Budimex have formed a consortium that will construct a 41km stretch of the A4 highway in Poland. The section of the route runs from Rzeszów to Jarosław, in south-eastern Poland. The project is expected to take 14 months to complete and the contract has a value of around €170 million. The contract includes the construction of the 41km main roadway as well as three motorway interchanges, 78 bridge structures and 20 wildlife crossings. Work will begin following handover of the construction site in early October. The motorway should be opened to traffic in the first half of 2016. The motorway section in the Subcarpathian Region of south-eastern Poland is a key investment in the construction of the A4 motorway, which has a total length of some 670km.
